After their baptism of fire in Normandy, the American 101st Airborne Division was ordered to secure the bridges between Eindhoven and Veghel in Operation Market. A total of nine bridges over a distance of 22 kilometers as the crow flies. The Americans had to secure these bridges and the road between them so that British XXX Corps could advance to Nijmegen, Arnhem and beyond on this road. In this battlefield tour you will follow the operations of the 101st Airborne Division to keep this road open under heavy German counterattacks, and discover just how crucial and difficult the task of this division was.
