Description
The Siege of Bastogne undoubtedly is the most well-known and most imaginative off all events that happened during the Battle of the Bulge. The US 101st Airborne Division, together with CCB, 10th Armored Division, 705th Tank Destroyer Battalion and other units, held a perimiter around the town between 19 and 26 December 1944 and prevented the Germans from using this all important crossroads town to support their advance to the Meuse river and beyond. But how did the Americans manage to get these troops to Bastogne before the German army got there?
During this tour, you will follow the story of the Race to Bastogne and learn about how American soldiers of the 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, 9th Armored Division and CCB, 10th Armored Division strongly delayed the German advance to Bastogne and made it possible for other units to arrive there (just) before the Germans did.
